The project reimagines a colonial villa in Cajicá as a layered residential environment, organized around three functional zones: guest, private, and communal, aligned along the central circulation axi. Natural light is introduced through strategically placed skylights, ensuring illumination across all interior spaces.
The design responds to the site’s context, adjacent to industrial uses by creating a shielded, vegetated envelope that transforms the lot into a retreat within the suburban fabric. The landscape is divided into two distinct zones: one structured with colonial-style patios, terraces, and private gardens, and another that embraces native vegetation.
Key interventions include the complete restoration of the roof, left exposed in the foyer and public wing to reveal new bamboo ceilings and original wooden beams. The material palette honors the building’s history, with restored terracotta-tiled floors and pigmented concrete used for landscape paths, reinforcing a cohesive visual and tactile identity.
The project is currently in the detailed design phase, with construction planned to begin shortly. The final outcome will be a villa that balances historical character with contemporary comfort, offering a quiet, green sanctuary responsive to its environment.
